On the right hand is a Hist tree, on the left is a Wamasus (Lightning dragon).

History

Born in Thorn in Argonia he was given the name Hesek on his naming day. Hesek translates to Blue-Water-Scales. His father was a commander at the fort, his mother was a mage and alchemist. He learned the use of the spear and armor from his father, as well as how to maintain weapons and armor. His mother taught him mysticism, restoration, and alchemy. He grew up knowing a winged female named Chalovk. Hesek and Chalovk were close friends through their younger years, and later lovers. As he grew up he became a soldier and trained well, most likely to become a commander.

At the age of nineteen he was transferred to Helstrom, Chalovk was to follow in a week and they were to be mated. A day after arriving in Helstrom he was sent on a patrol to the north, slavers had been sighted near some of the villages. The patrol was uneventful and he ended up spending a few hours in a small village having a drink after the patrol was done. While there a cry went out, the slavers were there. He sprang to action to defend the town. He emerged to find several Dunmer with clubs knocking out the Argonians. Hesek got the surprise on one and pierced him through the heart with his spear. He swung around to attack another; a few quick moves and the spear severed the artery in the Dunmer’s neck. As he was about to attack a third slaver a spell hit him. He felt tired and weak. Hesek fell to his knees and dropped his spear. Finally he collapsed to the ground as the slavers moved in on him. He thought he would never wake up again, that he would be killed on the spot. But as another spell hit him he heard a voice say “We’ll get a lot for that one.”

When he finally awoke he was on a wagon for Morrowind. He was sold in Narsis to Alren Dres. For a year he was forced to work as a slave. Alren Dres, his master, was cruel to the other slaves. Alren would beat them over the smallest things till they were bloody and whimpering. One Argonian even died from the injuries. Hesek only avoided being beaten by his strict training and ability to follow orders. He kept an eye open on opportunities to escape and free the others, but none came.

One day Hesek was taken before Alren Dres and accused of stealing some food. Hesek was no thief and told Alren that. The slave master did not believe the Argonian and told Hesek he would be beaten. Hesek was ordered to face away and kneel. Hesek’s mind was racing, he did not want to be beaten, he felt the anger rising in him. He was angry over the entire practice of slavery, over the way the others were treated, and over the fact he was about to be beaten. And he found his opportunity to change it all. Alren raised the whip, but before it could fall Hesek spun about and raked his claws across the Dunmer’s abdomen. The slaver fell to his knees and looked down at himself, his intestines were hanging out through a large gash in his belly. He uttered his last word, “N’wah!” and Hesek tore his throat out.

He looked at his bloody claws and the bloody and disemboweled corpse of his former master. He had to escape some how. If he was caught he would be killed painfully and slowly. He took the key to his bracers from the body of Alren as well as the steel long sword. He refused to leave without freeing the other slaves though so made his way around to the shacks were they slept. He encountered a few guards, but not all at once so dealt with them easily. Hesek even had time to take the chitin armor off one of them. After making his way from the plantation he decided that he needed to get back home. He would have to change his name, for one of the guards had escaped and would tell of his deeds. Hesek looked at his bloody claws again and decided on his new name, Slashes-With-Claws.

Slashes made a living robbing plantations of food and small valuables and freeing slaves. He eventually joined the thief’s guild for a short while to earn enough money to return home. He also explored various ruins and acquired a dwarven claymore, which he trained himself in.

When he returned to Argonia he learned that Chalovk had left. He became depressed and finally decided to return to Morrowind, to work to free his people from slavery. For a while he worked alone to try to free his people, then with another Argonian, Jei-Set. He eventually learned of a city where slavery was illegal, Ald Raathim.

Slashes arrived in Ald-Raathim just as a war was brewing. After learning that slaver was indeed illegal in Ald Raathim he pledged his life and sword to the city and its lady, Loranna. Over the next several months he rose in rank in the army and fought in many battles, rising to eventually become the commander of the army of Ald Raathim. He had his father send some Argonian armor, which he uses frequently.

On a quest in Argonia he was blessed by the wamasus lightning dragons with resistance to lightning as well as enhanced skill in lightning magicka. Soon afterwards he found what had become of Chalovk. After engaging in battle with the King of Worms and nearly getting killed he mated with Chalovk.

Slashes has had increasing experience with power and knowledge in the world that most know nothing about. Several experiences in his life have taught him some of the hidden secrets. The first was his first entry into the void.

While in Morrowind he used the guild guides with increasing frequency as he acquired more money. On one particular trip to a mage guild he had recently helped several slaves escape from captivity so was in high spirits. He hopped down the steps to the guild guide in celebration. As he hopped down the last set of steps his feet hit the ground, but almost immediately resumed falling. Slashes-With-Claws fell completely through the floor into blackness. Moments later he was standing back at the entrance to the guild, just inside the door. He was surprised to say the least, and never fully understood what had happened until years later.

Another incident happened while he was traveling towards a town on foot. Slashes gained memories of entering a cave and fighting a large Nord. The memory ends with the Nord’s large war hammer striking his skull. As he continued on his trip to the town he saw a cave off the road, it was the one from the memory. He wisely avoided it and hurried on. As time passed his curiosity grew, he went to the cave to finally find out the truth. Inside the cave it was just as it looked in the memory, including the Nord who charged him. It was the same Nord, luckily he already had his sword ready. He had learned much about using a claymore in the time he had been traveling through Morrowind, and after a battle with the Nord he was finally victorious.

There have been several other similar incidents, but that was the one he recalls the best. Other things in his life, including his ability to escape almost imposable situations has lead him to believe, and to a point, understand the true nature of the world.
