Bosriel

Summary

For over a thousand years, a little dark-haired girl with pale skin and blood-red eyes stalked the shadowland behind reality, the dreaded Void Vampire. Her name was Bosriel, and she was as pathetic a creature as she was horrible.

From what can be gathered, she was kidnapped by a tribe of orcs as a young Dunmer child and raised in their society. At some time in her early childhood, she was attacked by a vampire, and by fate, as she was embraced into darkness, she fell back and into the nothingness that the people of Solunastra call the Void.

Her vampiric powers allowed her to float in the ether, and though she could never leave the Void, she could reach out telekinetically and influence small things in the world she was born into. Bosriel could hardly ever resist the urge to “touch” people, so they felt invisible child-like fingers on them.

Bosriel’s usual method of stalking her prey was to wait for them in staircases or the corners of rooms, any angle where the distance between the Void and the world was negligible, and there she would grab them and feed. Small children she would lure by telekinetically pulling their toys to a place where she could reach them.

Bosriel was driven by endless hunger, but also by the desire to escape the Void. Joined by the rogue Void Ranger Leseth, she agreed to work for Queen Elysana based on the promise that she would use the Eidolon to free her.

When at last the Eidolon was activated, Bosriel ceased to be for a time. It was unknown if she was freed or destroyed. Some months later, however, she appeared in the wall of Solunastra, the Void Ranger house in Daggerfall. She was no longer a Void Vampire, but a different kind of creature. A vampire that fed on fear.

Still, Bosriel was freed from the Void, and took it upon herself to go all the places she couldn’t in the thousand years she was imprisoned. She left Solunastra, telling her one friend, the Azurite Tamne, that she was going to the island of Balfiera. She has not been heard from since.
